Bright Butterflies

This is our pre-school room for children age 3 until they start school. The room can hold up to 20 children at any one time. In this room children can receive both the educational hours and the childcare offer.

The children in the room have free flow access to the outdoors giving them the choice to play indoors or outdoors throughout the day. The Bright Butterflies have their own outdoor decking area giving them the chance to explore all weathers. 

​

We follow the foundation phase principles which is reflected in the weekly planning. The focus of enjoyment and engagement remain while children develop their literacy and numerical skills in dynamic and natural ways. 

​

The toys and resources are always accessible for the children giving them free choice to decide what they want to play with along side more structured activities. These activities will look to support children in their development, social skills, sharing and independence. 

​

There are some amazing learning opportunities for the children within the room such as a woodwork bench, playdough station, craft area, IT area with working equipment for the children and many other exciting opportunities. We also have a dedicated sensory room with open access for children to explore as and when they wish.

This very spacious room has its own children's toilets and sink area. 

​

The ratio in this room is 1 adult to 8 children.
